The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stafford defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Larson.
Stafford tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Larson manages to circle out of the way.
Larson closes the distance and clinches up with Stafford, looking for a takedown. Larson pushes Stafford against the cage but Stafford circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Stafford displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Larson.
Malik Stafford has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeffery Larson.

Stafford moves into the clinch successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stafford has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Larson throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Stafford's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Stafford leaves Larson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Larson now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Stafford tries to counter by clinching up but Larson breaks away and moves out of range.

Stafford closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Larson's guard.

Larson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stafford can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Larson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Stafford is one step ahead there.
Larson wants to get back to his feet but Stafford is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stafford working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Stafford seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Larson throws strikes from the bottom but it's allowed Stafford to grab hold of an arm and go for an armbar! It's tiiiiiiiiight! Larson is forced to tap! This fight is all over!
