The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shizz tries to sprawl but Valdez drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Valdez seems to be working for a kimura but Shizz defends the submission attempt.
Shizz looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Valdez connects with a nice short shot to Shizz's temple.

Valdez is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Shizz has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Valdez is on him like a limpet, forcing Shizz back against the cage.

Valdez throws a nice looking combination but Shizz bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Shizz lands with a kick to the ribs.

It looks like Michale Valdez has been cut.
Shizz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Valdez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Shizz as he jumps to the side.
Oh Valdez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Shizz closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Valdez! Shizz dives in looking to finish! Valdez is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
