Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Donnie Jones (ranked 1658 p4p, 58 weight class) and Kormack Omega (ranked 1762 p4p, 61 weight class). Omega has chosen Bring the Pain - 2Pac as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Donnie Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kormack Omega!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Dirk Anderson and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Omega misses with a right hand
and Jones counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Omega thinking.
Jones seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Omega throws a shot from downtown. Jones moves away and avoids it.
Omega throws a body shot but no joy.
An attempted straight right counter from Jones misses the target.
Omega displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jones throws out the jab.
Omega now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Jones missing with a left hand there. Omega was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
And Omega tries to counter it with a takedown but Jones pushes his down on his head and steps out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Omega.
Jones throws a jab but it's blocked by Omega.
Jones stuffs the takedown attempt from Omega. Omega gets slowly back to his feet.

A shot to the body from Omega misses
and Jones makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Omega getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Jones uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Omega has time to react.
Jones drops his hands momentarily and Omega takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Jones lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Jones misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Jones takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Omega steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jones.
Omega is looking for the big counter here.
Jones scores with a punch to the head.
Omega throws an ugly left hook that misses
enabling Jones to counter with a crisp jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jones digs a good body shot into Omega's ribs.
Omega missing with a left hand there. Jones was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Omega looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Omega.

Omega swings widly with a right hand
and Omega takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Jones dodges the punch combination from Omega.
Jones swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Jones misses with a looping left.
Jones misses the shot to the body.
Jones on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Omega listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Omega misses with an uppercut.
Omega rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jones moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Omega looking to score a takedown here. Jones is defending well but Omega drives through and ends up in Jones's guard.
Omega controlling from the top position.
Omega in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Omega has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Omega working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jones's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Donnie Jones will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Omega closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Jones tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Omega drops a big elbow. That's hurt Jones! More shots from Omega and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

After the fight, Kormack Omega was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
