Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matt Quin (ranked 199 p4p, 31 weight class) and Basten Sodergren (ranked 174 p4p, 27 weight class). Quin comes to the cage accompanied by Captain Jack - Iko Iko. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 14 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Quin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Basten Sodergren!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Quin misses the target.
Sodergren takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Quin fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Matt Quin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sodergren fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Quin has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Sodergren goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Matt Quin has been cut.
Sodergren takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Quin misses with a hook. Sodergren ducked under it nicely.

Quin takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Sodergren stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sodergren wants it to stay on the feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Quin shoots for a takedown but Sodergren saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Quin shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Quin showed some decent athleticism there.

Sodergren ducks right into an uppercut from Quin.
The crowd cheers as Quin lands an impressive looking overhand right. Sodergren doesn't seem phased though.
Sodergren defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Quin.
Horrible takedown attempt by Quin or perhaps it was just good defense by Sodergren, which made it look bad.
Quin is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Sodergren throws a front kick aimed at Quin's knee but Quin avoids it well.

Quin lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Sodergren throws a shot from downtown. Quin moves away and avoids it.
Quin tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sodergren defends well and Quin ends up having to push Sodergren into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Sodergren is pressed up against the cage. Quin has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sodergren down to the mat. Sodergren avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Quin creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Sodergren sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sodergren must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Quin manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sodergren manages to get himself to full guard.

Quin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Quin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Sodergren is looking to stand up but Quin isn't so interested in that idea.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Quin dives in and grabs Sodergren's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sodergren pushes down on Quin's head and hops out.
