Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randy Savage (ranked 6591 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karlis Samsons (ranked 25654 p4p, 0 weight class). Savage comes to the cage accompanied by Pomp & Circumstance. Karlis Samsons will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Samsons tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Savage paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Savage tries to counter by clinching up but Samsons breaks away and moves out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Samsons looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Savage appears to be looking for a big counter.

Samsons shoots in for a takedown but Savage shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Randy Savage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karlis Samsons.

Samsons looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Savage is fending him off so far but Samsons persists. Nope, Savage circles away and we're back to standing.
It looked like Savage was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Samsons.
Samsons shoots in for a double leg but Savage sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Savage counters with a nice double leg into side control. Samsons won't be happy with that.
Savage tries to stand but Samsons is controlling his head.

Savage thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The referee asks Savage politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Savage prefers to stall for the moment though.
Samsons is trying to work for a sweep but Savage has mounted him!
Savage tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Samsons tries to lock up and control but Savage gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Samsons has left one of his arms exposed and Savage doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Samsons screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
