The crowd seem to be enjoying Stark's choice of entrance music: Gardenia by Kyuss. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Foote tries a head kick but it misses.
Foote ducks under a wild hook from Stark.
A slapping leg kick lands for Stark.
Foote shoots in and drives through. Stark sprawls well.

Foote fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Stark, pushing him back against the cage.
Foote wants to take the fight to the mat but Stark manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Foote is working for takedown but Stark is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shelby Foote. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Stark breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Foote fails to land with a series of punches.
Khal Stark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Stark closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Stark pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Stark stuffs the takedown.

It looks like Shelby Foote has been cut.
Stark is pawing at Foote, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Foote's nose. Foote is badly hurt! Stark pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Foote tries desperately to hold on but Stark is relentless in his assault! As Foote receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Stark away and this one is in the books!
