PBP Commentary

Savage is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Pomp & Circumstance. Wilkerson is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilkerson tries to clinch there but Savage circles away.
Wilkerson is breathing heavily.
Wilkerson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Savage manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Savage should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

and Savage decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Wilkerson's guard.
Savage controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Let's hope that Savage has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wilkerson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Savage swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Savage lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Savage leaves Wilkerson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

so Savage counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Wilkerson is wriggling around but Savage manages to pass to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Savage.
Savage wants to stand but Wilkerson has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Randy Savage showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

and Savage counters with a big takedown. That's hurt Wilkerson! Savage smells blood and goes in for the kill. Serveral hard shots later and the ref calls an end to the fight by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Randy Savage!
An out of breath Randy Savage thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
