Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roy Parker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Steve Nash!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Emerson Jorge and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nash shoots in for a double leg but Parker sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Parker misses with a wild combination.

Nash gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Nash wants to sweep here but Parker controlling him for the moment.
Parker trying to control but Nash is working from the bottom.
Parker won't allow Nash to sweep him here.

Nash had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Parker is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Nash Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Parker's back instead.

Parker defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Nash's arms.

Nash is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Parker is defending well though. Nash let's go of the attempt for now.
Parker trying to control the action but Nash just sinks the hooks in.

Parker tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Parker is looking to get to half guard.
Nash punching from mount but Parker doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Parker keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Parker tries to lock up and control but Nash gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Nash moves to the back position.
Nash is looking to control Parker but Parker is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Nash looks gassed!

Nash looking to break Parker's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Parker remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Nash will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Parker drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Parker jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Nash not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Parker drops back, looking for a kneebar! Nash looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Nash looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Nash!
Nash throws an elbow but Parker slips to the side and avoids it well.
Parker is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Nash's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Parker looking for submissions off his back.
Parker wants to get back to full guard.
Nash thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Parker to regain full guard.

Parker working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nash doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nash manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Nash is sitting in close to Parker's body. Parker has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Nash is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Nash is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Parker.
