Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pat McDermot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greg Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wilson has chosen treat your mother right as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDermot feints and then cracks Wilson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Wilson down.
McDermot could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Wilson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McDermot is fending him off so far but Wilson persists. Nope, McDermot circles away and we're back to standing.
McDermot lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
McDermot misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
McDermot lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.


It looks like Greg Wilson has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
McDermot lands a nice looking body kick.
Wilson looks gassed!
Wilson walks forward, straight into a front kick from McDermot.
McDermot throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
McDermot tries to bum rush Wilson with a series of wild strikes but Wilson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
McDermot throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Wilson stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. McDermot follows into mount!

McDermot knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wilson on the ground.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Pat McDermot just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Wilson closes the distance and clinches up with McDermot, looking for a takedown. Wilson pushes McDermot against the ropes but McDermot circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
McDermot fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Wilson.
McDermot cracks a nice hook into Wilson's ribs.
McDermot looks to land a combination but Wilson avoids it well.
McDermot thumps Wilson with a low kick.
McDermot turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Good leg kick by McDermot there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
McDermot throws out a powerful jab.
McDermot scores with a hook.

McDermot works over Wilson's head and body with a nice combination.
McDermot drops Wilson with a left and a right! Oh, Wilson is hurt - McDermot dives into side control looking to finish!


Wilson is rocked!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
This has been an exciting period of action!

McDermot decides to stand back up. McDermot steps back and let's Wilson get back to his feet.
McDermot stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
A jab-cross combination lands for McDermot and sends Wilson crashing to the mat! McDermot follows him down to the mat - Wilson regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
Wilson is still in real trouble! Can McDermot finish him?


That has opened up Greg Wilson's cut even more.
McDermot stalling.
Wilson seems to have recovered his senses.

Wilson looking for submissions off his back.
McDermot takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

McDermot wants to pass to mount but Wilson is defending the position.
McDermot tries to stand and escape but Wilson is controlling the position.

McDermot decides to stand up.
Wilson takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
McDermot lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
McDermot throws a right and a left that Wilson avoids nicely.

McDermot rushes Wilson and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pat McDermot is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Wilson shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Wilson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

McDermot lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Wilson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
No joy there for McDermot, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

McDermot is working the combinations to good effect here.
McDermot dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Wilson. That did some damage!

McDermot lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Wilson circles away quickly and effectively.
Wilson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
