The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Emerson Jorge and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza throws a lazy body kick
and Daniels counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Daniels is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Daniels lands a nice short elbow.
Souza tries to get to full guard but Daniels has control of the leg.
Daniels really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Daniels decides to stand up.
Souza forces Daniels back against the cage and clinches.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Daniels manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Souza on his heels. He'll look to pass Souza's guard now, I'm sure.

Souza has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Daniels doesn't defend quickly enough and Souza has managed to lock this one up! Can Daniels escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Souza on a fantastic submission victory.
