Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Connor Jenkins (ranked 4786 p4p, 87 weight class) and Bruiser Banks (ranked 9405 p4p, 288 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Connor Jenkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bruiser Banks!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Michael Johnstone and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins has a takedown stuffed.
Banks swats away the attempt to clinch by Jenkins.
Banks looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Jenkins looks to land a combination but Banks avoids it well.
A head kick misses from Banks.
Banks fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Jenkins on the side of the head.
Banks avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jenkins tries to clinch but Banks is having none of it.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Banks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jenkins cracks Banks with a right hand to the side of the head.


It looks like Bruiser Banks has been cut.
Banks looks winded!
Banks swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jenkins takes one to the chin there.
Jenkins fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Banks fails with a takedown attempt.

Jenkins shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Banks manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Banks wants to get back to his feet but Jenkins is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Jenkins advances position into side control!
Jenkins creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jenkins trying to control the action but Banks is working from the bottom.
Jenkins connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Banks some visible discomfort.
We've been hearing good reports from Jenkins's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Banks is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Banks seems a little lost for a moment, as Jenkins dominates the positioning.
Jenkins creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Jenkins is looking to take a break and control but Banks is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jenkins has an Americana. Banks didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Jenkins is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Jenkins hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
