The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Michael Johnstone and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Da Silva stuffs the takedown attempt from Banks. Banks gets slowly back to his feet.
Da Silva tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Banks defends well and Da Silva ends up having to push Banks into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Banks tries to clinch but Da Silva is having none of it.
Da Silva tries to counter with a takedown but Banks is quick to defend against it.
Banks keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Da Silva.

Da Silva appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Banks's coach down at Cozad The Island was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Banks's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Da Silva blocks a head kick by Banks.
Da Silva feinted with a counter takedown.
Banks looks winded!
Da Silva with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Banks misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Banks looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Da Silva shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Banks but Banks pushes him off and we're back to square one.
No joy there for Banks, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Da Silva counters with a shoot takedown. Banks fights it but they end up in guard.
Da Silva passes into half guard.
Da Silva content to control rather than advance.

Da Silva lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Banks is trying to stand.
Da Silva has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Da Silva passes the guard and advances to mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Da Silva is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Da Silva!
