Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hondo paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Maia ducks under a wild hook from Hondo.
Maia shoots for a double leg takedown but Hondo sprawls well. He's pushed Maia's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Maia.
Hondo throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Hondo clinches up with Maia and pushes him back against the cage.
Maia is trying to drag Hondo to the mat but Hondo just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Demian Maia. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Maia jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hondo walks away with a smile on his face. Maia gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Hondo throws a hook but Maia blocks it.
Hondo swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Maia fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Maia takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Maia shoots in looking for a takedown. Hondo tries to sprawl out of it but Maia keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hondo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Maia fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Hondo throws a big shot that misses.
Hondo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Maia. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Hondo thows a left - swing and a miss!
Hondo lands a hook that stumbles Maia back into the cage. Hondo follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Maia to the canvas! Hondo pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Maia has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
