Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Akiro Sata (ranked 8420 p4p, 331 weight class) and Jacque Sirven (ranked 4260 p4p, 213 weight class). Sata comes into the arena with Onward to Victory! blaring out of the sound system. Jacque Sirven has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 29 - 0, fighting out of New York, Akiro Sata!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jacque Sirven!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Chris Edwards and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sirven looks to land a right hand but Sata moved out of range.
Sata avoids the body shot from Sirven.
Sirven misses with an uppercut.
The fighters circling - Sirven throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Sata clinches.
Sirven leaning his opponent against the cage.

Sata has hold of one of Sirven's legs. Sirven is fighting the takedown attempt but Sata gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Sirven has his hands on Sata's head, controlling the position.
Sirven manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sata manages to get himself to full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sata looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sirven is one step ahead there.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Sirven trying to control the action but Sata is working from the bottom.
Sirven scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Sata to see if he's OK.
Sirven happy to just control the position for now.
Sata is trying to get back to half guard.
Sata is trying to escape the position but Sirven is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sirven tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sirven has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sirven trying to control the position but Sata is working away.

Sata is not content to let Sirven control the position.
Sirven connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Sata some visible discomfort.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sirven works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
The strikes coming from Sirven are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Sirven lands some shots froms side control.
Sirven tries to score with some ground and pound. Sata controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Sata moves out of range of the strikes.
Sata lands with a straight right. Sirven didn't see that one coming.
Sirven cracks Sata with a good jab.

Sata is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Sirven's half guard.
Sata seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Sirven tries to roll over but Sata keeps him under control.

Sirven wants to improve his position but Sata is controlling well.
Sata thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sirven's head.
Sirven flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Sata is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sirven has managed to free his arm - good work.

Sirven slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Sirven is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sata defends well.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Sirven bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sata's guard.

Sirven slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Sata is trying to control Sirven's posture but Sirven avoids it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sata tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Sata can't escape the position.
Sata is working hard here to advance position.
Sirven looking to control but Sata is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Sirven prevents Sata from getting the reversal.
Sirven landing strikes, looking to finish!
Sirven putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

Sirven lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Sata hang on?
Oh Sata is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sata is working to get back to half guard.
Sata taking shots to the head.
Sirven avoids the attempt from Sata to control.
Sirven unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Sata wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Sirven celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jacque Sirven!
In his post fight interview, Jacque Sirven started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
