PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Battery Maximus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bo Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Battery Maximus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bo Scott!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Scott darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Maximus kicks off Scott and gets to his feet.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
No joy there for Maximus, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Scott showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Maximus.
Scott has a takedown stuffed.
Scott shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Maximus but Maximus pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Horrible takedown by Scott or perhaps it was just good defense by Maximus which made him look bad.
Battery Maximus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bo Scott.

Maximus gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Maximus avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Scott trying to control the position from guard on top but Maximus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Scott is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Maximus is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Maximus has escaped and now he's on top!

Scott has his foot on Maximus's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Maximus works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Scott looks gassed!
Maximus wants to stand but Scott is controlling his posture from full guard.

Maximus avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Scott has a closed guard, preventing Maximus from standing up.

Scott had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Maximus is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Scott Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Maximus's back instead.
Scott throws a series of strikes and Maximus wriggles onto his back, so he's now mounted. He's in real trouble here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Scott won't let Maximus get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Scott mounts Maximus! Really nice guard pass there!
Scott wants to control the pace but Maximus is squirming around nicely.

Scott goes for an armbar but Maximus turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Maximus.
Maximus tries to stand but Scott is controlling from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bo Scott dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Maximus fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Scott.
Scott shoots for a double leg takedown but Maximus sprawls well. He's pushed Scott's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Battery Maximus is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Scott fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Battery Maximus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Scott blocks a head kick by Maximus.
Maximus fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Scott shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Maximus as he avoids it easily.
Battery Maximus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bo Scott.
Maximus stuffs the takedown attempt from Scott. Scott gets slowly back to his feet.
Scott closes this distance looking for a takedown but Maximus circles away.
Maximus throws a sloppy head kick and Scott moves out of range easily.
Scott takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Maximus drops Scott with a beautiful combination! Scott stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Maximus is looking for the KO!

Scott is rocked!

It looks like Bo Scott has been cut.
Scott tries to clinch up.
Scott is still on wobbly legs! Can Maximus finish him?
Maximus throws a series of punches but Scott moves out of range.
Maximus circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Scott drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Maximus follows Scott to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
