Smith has chosen Walk - Pantera as his entrance music. Paul Smith struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 206.5lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Paul Smith looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Senior tries to bum rush Smith with a series of wild strikes but Smith uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Senior checks a low kick from Smith.
Senior could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Senior lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Senior misses with a two punch combination.

Senior clinches with his opponent.
Smith is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Senior has had enough of the clinch but Smith keeps him there for the moment.
Senior wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Smith using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Senior has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Smith manages to break the clinch.

Senior lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Smith misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Smith throws a series of punches but Senior moves out of range.

Smith will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Senior swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Smith counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Senior thinking.
No joy there for Senior, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Senior jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Smith tries to bum rush Senior with a series of wild strikes but Senior uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Senior scores with a crisp jab that stopped Smith in his tracks.
A nice combination there by Smith.
Some wild striking there from Smith.
Smith throws a right and a left that both miss.
Senior throws a lazy right hand but Smith sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A clash of legs there as Senior blocks the low kick.
Smith scores with a leg kick.
Smith scores with a punch to the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Smith lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Senior has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Senior and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

and Smith counters with a three punch combo that has Senior backing up. Senior nods at Smith to acknowledge the strikes.
Senior is looking to clinch but Smith is avoiding it.
Senior throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Senior swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Smith moves into the clinch.

Good standup being displayed there by Smith as he connects with a hook.
Senior is breathing heavily.
Senior goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Senior throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Smith's head.
Senior misses with a series of wild punches.
Senior falls off balance throwing a combination
and Smith counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Senior throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Smith counters with a left and a right that stings Senior.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Senior throws a hook but Smith avoids it easily.
Smith throws a right hand that Senior ducks under and follows up with a left that Senior also avoids with ease.
Smith blocks the body kick.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Junior Senior.
Well Senior has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
