Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Alex Foster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rick Grimes!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Foster gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Grimes to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Grimes is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Foster is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Foster has escaped and now he's on top!

Foster wants to control from the top but Grimes keeps moving.
Grimes wants to get back to his feet but Foster passes into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Grimes misses with some strikes from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Grimes trying to hold on to Foster's head to control him but Foster postures up.
Foster could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Foster is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Grimes trying to control from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Grimes is looking to improve his position.

Foster is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Grimes is just riding it out for now. Foster eventually gives up the hold.
Grimes pushes Foster off but Foster dives into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Grimes is trying to get back to half guard.
Foster postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Grimes is trying to work for a sweep but Foster has mounted him!
Grimes can't escape the position.
Grimes tries to hold on but Foster postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Grimes tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Grimes tries to buck Foster off but he can't manage it.
Foster trying to control but Grimes is having none of it.
Grimes is working to get back to half guard.
Foster looking to finish Grimes with some ground and pound. This is bad for Grimes!
Grimes is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Foster controlling his opponent.
Foster is landing with some decent strikes but Grimes is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Grimes is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Foster with the ground and pound from mount.
Grimes wants to control but Foster is having none of it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Grimes taking shots to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alex Foster dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Alex Foster's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Foster has taken the fight to the clinch.
Foster is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Grimes can do to turn this around?
Foster changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Grimes fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Foster tries to close the distance and clinch but Grimes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Grimes scores with a nice strike.
The fight stays on the outside here - Foster looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Foster enables Grimes to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Foster manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Foster has his feet on Grimes's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Foster is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Grimes throws a counter combo.

Grimes feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Foster manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Grimes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Foster tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Grimes manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Foster clinches.

Grimes wants the takedown. Foster is fighting it off but Grimes persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Foster's guard against the cage.

Foster has his feet on Grimes's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Foster fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Grimes, pushing him back against the cage.

Grimes drags the fight down to the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Grimes looking to hit a scissor sweep but Foster is one step ahead there.
Alex Foster overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Grimes keeps trying to improve his position.
Grimes is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Grimes lands an upkick as Foster stands over him.
Grimes preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Grimes wants to sweep here but Foster controlling him for the moment.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Grimes is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Foster shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Grimes's guard.

Foster drops back looking for a leg! Grimes is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Grimes manages to kick Foster off! Foster jumps back into Grimes's guard.

Foster avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Foster lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Grimes has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Foster has passed into side control.
Grimes tries to buck Foster off but Foster is having none of it.
Foster working the ground and pound from side control.
Foster cracks Grimes with an elbow. That is naaassty.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alex Foster dominated that second round.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Grimes closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Foster's guard.
Grimes tries to stand but Foster is controlling from the bottom.
Grimes pushes down on Foster's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Foster keeping control of the position.
Grimes missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Foster is doing well to control the position and prevent Grimes from advancing to side control.

Foster is trying to maintain the position but Grimes is very close to passing his half guard.
Grimes wants to take a breather but Foster is having none of it.
Foster regains full guard. Nicely done.
Foster is wriggling around but Grimes manages to pass to half guard.
Grimes wants to get back to his feet.
Grimes prevents Foster from standing back up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Grimes is nestled in close to Foster, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Grimes content to control rather than advance.

Grimes is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Foster still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Foster has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Grimes manages to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Grimes keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Foster thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Grimes's head.

Foster is working for a kimura but Grimes is defending it quite comfortably.
Grimes is trying to control but Foster passes into side control!
Foster has control of an arm but Grimes manages to advance to Foster's back!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Grimes has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Foster's body.
Foster just trying to survive but Grimes is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Foster is really stuck here.
Foster staying busy and making it hard for Grimes to control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Foster is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Grimes tries to keep control of the position but Foster is staying busy.
Rick Grimes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Alex Foster is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Grimes has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Foster has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

And that's the end of the fight!
Rick Grimes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Foster has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
