Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ji Lu (ranked 3362 p4p, 380 weight class) and Beckett Bellwether (ranked 835 p4p, 95 weight class). Bellwether comes into a darkened arena with his song building. John Lennon - Give Peace A Chance kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Ji Lu has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lu with a poor takedown
and Bellwether counters with a nice low kick that buckles Lu's knee momentarily.
A slapping leg kick lands for Bellwether.
Bellwether throws a body kick that misses.
Lu lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Bellwether connects with a right hand. Lu shakes it off.

It looks like Ji Lu has been cut.
Lu shoots for a double leg takedown but Bellwether sprawls well. He's pushed Lu's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Bellwether! But no joy.

Bellwether tries to sprawl but Lu drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Bellwether wants to control but Lu is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Lu is looking to take a break and control but Bellwether is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Lu cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lu wants to control the pace but Bellwether is squirming around nicely.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Lu cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Lu prevents Bellwether from improving his position.
Bellwether trying to hold on to Lu's head to control him but Lu postures up.
Lu will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Lu looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Bellwether wants to get back to full guard.
Bellwether has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lu is working away from the top position though.
Bellwether gets back to full guard.
Lu is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Bellwether might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lu haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Bellwether working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lu doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lu manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
