PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roberto Kim (ranked 3159 p4p, 420 weight class) and Bosco Iwoba (ranked 2811 p4p, 383 weight class). Iwoba comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Hercules* kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bosco Iwoba!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Iwoba misses with a straight right.
It appears Kim was looking to counter with a kick there.
Kim does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Iwoba has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Kim fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Iwoba manages to avoid it.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kim connects with a nice short shot to Iwoba's temple.

Iwoba creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Kim with a big uppercut! Kim tries to clinch up but Iwoba pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Kim to the mat! Kim covers up and Iwoba unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Bosco Iwoba was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
