PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Darius Maximo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maximo comes to the cage accompanied by Diamond Rings by Chipmunk. Shamrock is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Thunder strike. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Glass and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maximo misses with a double jab.

Shamrock rushes Maximo and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Maximo wants a takedown.

Shamrock turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Maximo tries to bench press Shamrock off him but Shamrock keeps the position.

Shamrock decides to stand back up. Shamrock steps back and let's Maximo get back to his feet.
Shamrock throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Maximo's waist but Maximo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shamrock off to one side.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Shamrock wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
