PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between William Wallace (ranked 2055 p4p, 271 weight class) and Harold Harmbe (ranked 2560 p4p, 329 weight class). Harold Harmbe told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, William Wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 1, fighting out of New York, Harold Harmbe!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Steve Montenegro and Columbo Gatti.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harmbe throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Wallace sees it coming and avoids it easily.
It looked like Wallace wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
A shot to the body from Harmbe misses
and Wallace connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Harmbe jabs Wallace to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Harmbe takes a swing at Wallace's ribcage but misses.
Harmbe throws a head kick but Wallace moves out of range.
Harmbe tries to clinch there but Wallace circles away.

Harmbe closes the distance and pushes Wallace back into the cage.
Harmbe has Wallace pressed against the cage, preventing Wallace from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Wallace breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The fighters circle momentarily. Wallace darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Harmbe's coach down at Lovelair Muay Thai/MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Harmbe's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Harmbe connects with a nasty looking knee right to Wallace's face.

Harmbe wants the takedown. Wallace is fighting it off but Harmbe persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Wallace's guard against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Harmbe stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wallace swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Wallace is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Harmbe has hold of one of Wallace's legs. Wallace is fighting the takedown attempt but Harmbe gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Harmbe has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Wallace should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Harmbe has tightened it up now! Wallace should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
