Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Tillman (ranked 8438 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joao Jorge (ranked 6533 p4p, 0 weight class). Joao Jorge has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Anthony Tillman's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anthony Tillman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joao Jorge!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Daniel Cesar and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jorge fails with the takedown
and Tillman counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Jorge is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Jorge clinches up with Tillman and pushes him back against the cage.

Jorge has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Tillman uses from the top position.
Jorge has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Tillman has passed into side control.

Tillman is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jorge is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Tillman tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jorge avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Tillman.

Jorge tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Tillman misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Jorge parries the strikes from Tillman easily there. Tillman is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Jorge to escape.
Jorge tries to strike but it doesn't land.

Tillman decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Jorge gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Tillman fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Jorge manages to pull guard.

Jorge trying to strike off his back.

Jorge is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Tillman stands and steps away. Jorge gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Tillman closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jorge's guard.
Jorge is pulling down on Tillman's head to control his posture.

Tillman gets to his feet. Jorge looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Tillman has taken the fight to the clinch.
Tillman tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jorge just stands there and leans against the cage.

Tillman gets control of Jorge's arms and successfully pulls guard. Tillman will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jorge is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Let's hope that Jorge has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Tillman is trying to control the position but Jorge postures up.
Tillman trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Jorge drops back, looking for a kneebar! Tillman looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Tillman looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Tillman!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Tillman has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Jorge breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jorge throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tillman's waist but Tillman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jorge off to one side.
Tillman shoots in and drives through. Jorge sprawls well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Anthony Tillman will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Tillman dodges the punch combination from Jorge.
Tillman tries to clinch up but Jorge circles away and keeps his distance.
Tillman avoids the head kick by Jorge.
Tillman tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jorge paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jorge changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Jorge tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Tillman defends well and Jorge ends up having to push Tillman into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Joao Jorge seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jorge shoots in for a double leg but Tillman sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Jorge shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tillman sprawls well. Tillman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jorge gets slowly back to his feet.
Tillman seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Tillman closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jorge circles away.

Jorge shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tillman sprawls well. Tillman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jorge gets slowly back to his feet.
Jorge fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jorge keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Jorge lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Jorge closes the distance and clinches.

Tillman jumps guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jorge stands up from Tillman's guard - Jorge perhaps looking for a knockout.
Tillman avoids the head kick by Jorge.
Jorge has a takedown stuffed.
Tillman dives in for a single leg takedown but Jorge sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Jorge rushes Tillman and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Jorge tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Tillman just stands there and leans against the cage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Tillman is trying to pull guard but Jorge has him pressed against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Jorge takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Joao Jorge showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Tillman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jorge pinned against the cage. Jorge gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Tillman tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jorge smiles and moves away.
Jorge shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tillman but Tillman pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A little feinted left hand from Tillman on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jorge.
Jorge looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Jorge throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Tillman tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jorge is in Tillman's guard.

Tillman throws his legs up looking for a submission but Jorge uses it to pass to side control.

Jorge controlling the position from side mount.
Jorge postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Jorge stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Anthony Tillman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Jorge breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jorge tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Tillman gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Jorge.
Jorge can't find room to land a body shot as Tillman controls the action.
Jorge misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Tillman.

Tillman wanted to stand there but Jorge had control of the position.
Tillman postures up in Jorge's guard and throws a big left but Jorge blocks it.
Tillman is looking to stand up but Jorge won't let him.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jorge doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Tillman throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Tillman decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jorge, up you get!

Joao Jorge comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Jorge has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
