Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jonny Le Pizon (ranked 2859 p4p, 340 weight class) and Shawn Jones (ranked 3517 p4p, 400 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonny Le Pizon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shawn Jones!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jones shoots in but no luck this time.
Le Pizon swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jones misses with a double jab
letting Le Pizon counter with a right hand.
Jones closes the distance and clinches up with Le Pizon, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes Le Pizon against the cage but Le Pizon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Jonny Le Pizon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shawn Jones.
Le Pizon fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jones avoids it really well and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones shoots in looking for a takedown. Le Pizon tries to sprawl out of it but Jones keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Le Pizon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Le Pizon counters with a series of strikes. Jones will be more careful next time no doubt.

Jones has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Zen Balance Monastery. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Jones is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Le Pizon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground.

Jones is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Jones wants to control but Le Pizon is keeping him busy.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jones is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Le Pizon is trying to escape and Jones transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Le Pizon is forced to tap! Nice work there by Jones! Very nice indeed!
