Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simeon Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wade Odoms (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Carter works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Carter lands a head kick. Odoms smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

It looks like Wade Odoms has been cut.
Odoms shoots in for a takedown but Carter shows good takedown defense.

Odoms moves into the clinch.
Odoms blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Carter comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Odoms has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Carter regains guard immediately.
Odoms really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Odoms. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Odoms can do anything to dispel that myth.

Carter looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Odoms with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Carter is tying to control. Odoms wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
