Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Heato Pernadez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Murphy Leonard!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Sandra Marshall and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leonard closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Leonard lands in his opponent's guard.
Pernadez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Leonard doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Leonard manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Leonard is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Leonard thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Pernadez is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Leonard wants to pass the guard but Pernadez is keeping the position.
Leonard drops back looking for a leg! Pernadez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pernadez manages to kick Leonard off! Leonard jumps back into Pernadez's guard.

Leonard looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Leonard is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Pernadez had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Leonard defends it easily.
Leonard drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Leonard as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Pernadez screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Leonard! Nice submission victory there!
