Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Augusto Mendes (ranked 24263 p4p, 799 weight class) and Rodrigo Figueroa (ranked 7874 p4p, 669 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Augusto Mendes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rodrigo Figueroa!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, David Hoff and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendes throws the left hand but Figueroa avoids the punch easily.
Despite the aggression on Figueroa's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Mendes lands a head shot.
It looks like Rodrigo Figueroa has been cut.
Mendes is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Figueroa.
Mendes throws a big shot that misses.
Figueroa closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Figueroa lands in his opponent's guard.
Figueroa works over Mendes with some ground and pound from guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Figueroa lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Mendes wants to stand and escape but Figueroa is having none of it.
Mendes wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Figueroa manages to pass to side control.
Mendes avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Figueroa.
Mendes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Figueroa on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mendes tries to kick Figueroa off but Figueroa keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Figueroa has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Mendes defend it? Figueroa steps over the head and cranks it - Mendes is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Figueroa!
