Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Artimus Angar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Silva!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, David Schapiro and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the liver by Silva. Beautiful body shot.
Angar tries to bum rush Silva with a series of wild strikes but Silva uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Silva throws a right and a left that both miss.
Richard Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Danga de danga de dang - Angar scores with a four punch combination!


It looks like Richard Silva has been cut.
Angar looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Angar takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Angar connects with a crisp jab.
Angar throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Silva lands a jab-cross combination.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Silva dodges the punch combination from Angar.
Angar misses with a double jab.

Silva throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Angar tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Silva is in Angar's guard.
Silva controls from within his opponent's guard.
Angar is trying to keep Silva in close.

Angar is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Silva slips nicely into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Angar is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Silva's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Silva's back!
Silva wants to get back to his feet.
Angar somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.

Silva tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Angar lands a couple of good shots and Silva has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Angar lands a shot to the body.

Silva is trying to shake Angar off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Angar won't be happy about giving up the dominant position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Angar tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Angar will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Silva scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Silva is trying to get an arm triangle but Angar is defending well.

Silva tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Silva lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Silva cracks Angar with a big right hand but Angar just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Silva cracks Angar with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Angar is not content to let Silva control the position.
Silva is working Angar over with some ground and pound from side control.
Angar is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Angar is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Silva has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Angar is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Silva yanks on the arm and Angar is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Silva.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Richard Silva!
A relieved looking Richard Silva thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
