The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Fire Liker throws a leg kick but Piana checks it.
Piana lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
The Fire Liker throws a sloppy head kick and Piana moves out of range easily.
The Fire Liker just misses with a punch to the body.
Piana fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Piana scores with a nice right hand.
Piana throws a jab but it's blocked by The Fire Liker.
The Fire Liker moves out of range of the strikes.
Piana scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. The Fire Liker doesn't seem bothered though.
Piana misses with a double jab
and The Fire Liker counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Piana throws a hook to the side of The Fire Liker's head but The Fire Liker sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
The Fire Liker uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Piana.
The Fire Liker looks to land a left hand but Piana moved out of range nicely.
The Fire Liker has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Piana finds it's way round the side to connect with The Fire Liker's head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The Fire Liker tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Piana was well out of range. Poor timing from The Fire Liker.

The Fire Liker looks to throw the jab but Piana is out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Piana lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but The Fire Liker circles away quickly and effectively.
The Fire Liker with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Piana to score with a decent uppercut.

The Fire Liker is rocked!
Piana throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on The Fire Liker's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Piana dives in looking to finish as The Fire Liker flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Piana's strikes! Piana is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! The Fire Liker's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but The Fire Liker was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
