Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Griffin McElroy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcelo Santiago!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santiago closes the distance and clinches up with McElroy, looking for a takedown. Santiago pushes McElroy against the cage but McElroy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
McElroy tries to close the distance and clinch up but Santiago swats him away and circles back towards the center.

McElroy closes the distance and pushes Santiago back into the cage.
McElroy tries a knee to the head but Santiago blocks it.

Santiago breaks from the clinch.

McElroy has managed to clinch.
McElroy lands a right hand.
McElroy doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Santiago fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
McElroy creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Santiago wants to take the fight to the mat but McElroy manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McElroy swings wildly with an uppercut but Santiago uses good head movement to avoid it.

Santiago's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and McElroy counters by moving into the clinch.

McElroy tries to work over Santiago's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Santiago wants the takedown. McElroy is fighting it off but Santiago persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in McElroy's guard against the cage.

Santiago shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McElroy sprawls well. McElroy wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Santiago gets slowly back to his feet.

Our sources have told us that McElroy has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.

Santiago is trying to trip McElroy. He has hold of a leg but McElroy is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Santiago persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Santiago closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Santiago creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Santiago postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! McElroy is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Santiago, into his guard.

You get the feeling that McElroy really doesn't like being in this position too much.

McElroy wants to get back to his feet but in bucking up he's left an arm hanging out! Santiago has locked onto it and has pulled off a slick armbar! McElroy taps furiously! This one is all over!
