Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Davidson (ranked 7761 p4p, 551 weight class) and Youkou Oonishi (ranked 25374 p4p, 618 weight class). Youkou Oonishi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anthony Davidson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Youkou Oonishi!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Seu Braga and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davidson throws a left and a right that both miss

and Oonishi moves into the clinch.

Oonishi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Davidson misses with a takedown attempt - Oonishi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Oonishi drives through and clinches with Davidson against the cage.
Davidson has had enough of the clinch but Oonishi keeps him there for the moment.
Davidson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Oonishi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Davidson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Oonishi smiles and moves away.

Oonishi wants to counter with a clinch but Davidson pushes him away.
Davidson works over Oonishi's head and body with a nice combination.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Davidson wants to stand but Oonishi has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Oonishi has Davidson pulled in close to control his posture.

Oonishi is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Oonishi is looking for a kimura but Davidson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Oonishi to get the leverage.

Oonishi looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Davidson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Oonishi is taking a breather. Davidson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Davidson is looking to get back to is feet but Oonishi passes into side control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Oonishi is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Oonishi throws a sloppy head kick and Davidson moves out of range easily.

Youkou Oonishi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Youkou Oonishi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Oonishi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
