Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joshua Sagutch (ranked 6499 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Jong (ranked 4249 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Joshua Sagutch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kim Jong!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Winston Alpacca and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sagutch throws a right hand that Jong ducks under and follows up with a left that Jong also avoids with ease.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sagutch looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jong displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sagutch.
Sagutch throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Sagutch throws a body punch but Jong moves out of range.
Sagutch tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jong defends well and Sagutch ends up having to push Jong into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Sagutch backing away here, and Jong unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Jong misses with a few strikes there.

Sagutch tries to sprawl but Jong drives through with a takedown into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jong is thwarting Sagutch's attempts to control the position.
Sagutch could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Jong is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sagutch is trying to control but can't.

Sagutch is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Jong wants to free his trapped foot but Sagutch is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Sagutch is looking to improve his position.
Jong content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Sagutch is in a horrible position here. Jong smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Sagutch keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Jong can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sagutch is looking to escape.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Jong jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Sagutch is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Sagutch and Jong has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Jong lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Sagutch fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Jong fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sagutch, pushing him back against the cage.

Sagutch breaks the clinch.
Sagutch tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jong defends well and Sagutch ends up having to push Jong into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Jong let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Sagutch rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jong moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jong slaps away a takedown attempt from Sagutch, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joshua Sagutch. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sagutch gets caught flat footed, as Jong shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jong slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Sagutch wants to hit a switch here but Jong passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Sagutch there!

Jong breaks from Sagutch's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Sagutch is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Jong wants to finish this one by submission but Sagutch is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Jong.

Jong lands with some strikes.

Jong lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Jong is trying to take his opponent's back.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jong connects with a couple of good shots from mount.


Sagutch is rocked!
Jong controlling the pace for now.
Sagutch is looking to improve his position but Jong isn't that keen on the idea.

Kim Jong showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Jong changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sagutch looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jong in particular looking to stall.

Sagutch has hold of Jong's hands but Jong slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Sagutch pushes Jong off looking to stand but Jong dives back in and keeps control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Jong is taking a breather. Sagutch says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Jong gets the takedown into side control.
Sagutch gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Jong has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Jong content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Jong winds up and cracks Sagutch with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jong in particular looking to stall.
Sagutch has hold of Jong's hands but Jong slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Jong slips a nice elbow through Sagutch's hands, connecting with Sagutch's forehead.
Jong prevents Sagutch from improving his position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Joshua Sagutch has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kim Jong is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Kim Jong comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jong has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
