Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alfred Touchard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Todd Rodd!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Touchard tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rodd was well out of range. Poor timing from Touchard.
Rodd throws a big counter head kick but Touchard avoids it with no problem.
Touchard is looking to clinch.
Touchard throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rodd was covering up waiting for the punch and Touchard finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Touchard is looking to work some ground and pound but Rodd has wrist control.
Touchard sitting in guard, not really doing much.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Touchard stands and steps away. Rodd gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Touchard looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Touchard bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Touchard decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Touchard misses with a double jab.
Touchard tries to clinch
and Rodd counters with a good, hard body kick but Touchard shrugs it off.
Touchard closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Touchard working over Rodd with some ground and pound. Rodd looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Touchard postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Rodd to stand up.
Alfred Touchard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rodd gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Touchard gets to his feet - Rodd follows without any prompting.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Touchard shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Touchard was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Touchard in side control lands a decent elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Touchard is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Touchard throws a strike aimed at the side of Rodd's head but Rodd avoids it well.
Touchard cracks Rodd with a big right hand but Rodd just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Touchard decides to stand back up. Touchard steps back and let's Rodd get back to his feet.
Touchard scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Touchard perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Rodd keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Touchard gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Touchard tries to clinch there but Rodd circles away.
Rodd shapes to counter with a head kick.
Rodd gets caught napping as Touchard dives in and scores a takedown. Rodd manages to retain guard.
Touchard decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Rodd, up you get!
Todd Rodd is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rodd looks winded!
Touchard tries to clinch there but Rodd circles away.
Rodd looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Touchard fails in his attempt to clinch.
Touchard gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Rodd on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Touchard fails to pull the fight into his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alfred Touchard dominated that round.
That's time! Touchard's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Touchard tries to score with a low kick but Rodd moves his leg out of the way.
Touchard closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rodd did well to prevent Touchard getting side control.
Touchard stalling.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rodd is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Touchard's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Alfred Touchard is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Touchard shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Rodd tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Touchard manages to move to mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Touchard working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Rodd turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Touchard off and cradles Rodd's limp body as Touchard celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Alfred Touchard!
Our winner, Alfred Touchard, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
