Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Houston Glass (ranked 6794 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kopa Sailplane (ranked 6416 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Kopa Sailplane enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Houston Glass!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kopa Sailplane!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Glass gets caught flat footed, as Sailplane shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Glass might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Glass is trying to keep Sailplane in close.
Glass managing to control the position.
Sailplane stopping the sweep attempt from Glass.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Glass controls Sailplane momentarily but Sailplane frees himself.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Glass is on top in guard.

Sailplane trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Glass lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Glass stopping the sweep attempt from Sailplane.
Sailplane trying to keep a closed guard but Glass is proving a slippery customer.

Glass gets to his feet - Sailplane follows without any prompting.

Sailplane closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Glass quickly recovers to half guard.
Sailplane wants to lay and pray for a moment but Glass keeps working.
Sailplane looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sailplane content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Sailplane is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Glass is looking for a sweep. Sailplane is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Sailplane thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Glass wants to improve his position but Sailplane is controlling well.
Sailplane lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Sailplane seems to be working for a kimura but Glass defends the submission attempt.
Glass gets full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Glass tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Sailplane is pushing down on Glass's leg trying to pass to half guard. Glass is fighting to maintain full guard but Sailplane has managed to sneak the leg through.
Glass is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Glass is looking to control Sailplane's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Glass avoid being mounted?
Glass desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Glass has a hand on Sailplane's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Sailplane takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Glass tries to hold on but Sailplane pushes him away.
Sailplane looking to control but Glass is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Sailplane throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Glass because Sailplane loaded up on that one.
Glass wants to control but Sailplane is having none of it.
Glass can't escape the position.
Glass reaches up to try and control the position but Sailplane seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Glass rolls and tries to escape and now Sailplane has his back!
Sailplane really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Glass. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sailplane trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Glass doesn't escape.
Glass wants to escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kopa Sailplane dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Glass shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sailplane sprawls well. Sailplane wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Glass gets slowly back to his feet.
Sailplane tries to clinch there but Glass circles away.

Sailplane drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Sailplane lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Glass down.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Glass wants to control but Sailplane postures up.
Glass misses with an elbow from the bottom.
Sailplane is looking to take a break and control but Glass is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Glass is trying to control Sailplane's posture but Sailplane avoids it.

Glass is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Sailplane's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Glass works his way to full guard. Good work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Sailplane won't allow Glass to sweep him here.
Sailplane trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Glass looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sailplane is one step ahead there.
Glass manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sailplane manages to get himself to full guard.

Glass controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Sailplane striking off his back but it's not causing Glass any problems.

Sailplane is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Glass defends well.
Glass trying to stand up but can't free himself from Sailplane's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sailplane closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Glass has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Sailplane.

Sailplane darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Glass pushes Sailplane off but Sailplane dives into side control.
Sailplane is breathing heavily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Glass is trying to improve his position.
Sailplane looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Glass is avoiding damage well.
Check out the look on Sailplane's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Glass tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kopa Sailplane showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Glass walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.


It looks like Houston Glass has been cut.
Sailplane wants to clinch up but Glass keeps it at a distance.
Glass wants to clinch.
Sailplane let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sailplane misses with a two punch combination.
Glass wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Sailplane bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Sailplane has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Sailplane shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Glass's guard.
Glass wants to stand but Sailplane is controlling the position.
Sailplane wants to control from the top but Glass keeps moving.
Glass not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Sailplane loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Glass is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Glass is trying to keep Sailplane in close.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sailplane trying to control the position from guard on top but Glass is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Glass bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sailplane's guard.

Glass in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Sailplane is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Glass postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Sailplane takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Glass trying to stand up but can't free himself from Sailplane's guard.

Glass tries to stand but Sailplane is controlling from the bottom.
Glass's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Glass avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sailplane tries to clinch but Glass is having none of it.
Glass feinted with a counter takedown.

Sailplane dives in and scores a takedown into Glass's guard.

Sailplane stands and steps away. Glass gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Sailplane closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sailplane lands in his opponent's guard.

Sailplane must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Glass is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Sailplane has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Glass is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Glass controlling the pace.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Glass tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Kopa Sailplane.
Well Sailplane has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
