Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Keyser Soze (ranked 1970 p4p, 220 weight class) and Chester Jones (ranked 1616 p4p, 175 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Keyser Soze!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chester Jones!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, David Schapiro and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Soze's head backwards.

A swing and a miss from Jones.
Soze appears to be looking for a big counter.
Keyser Soze seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A jab lands there for Jones.
Soze thumps Jones with a low kick.

Jones darts in and clinches Soze up against the cage.

A short body shot lands from Soze as the two fighters clinch.

Soze has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Soze uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jones.

It looked like Soze wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jones throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Soze tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jones is in Soze's guard.

Soze scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Soze misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
It seemed like Jones was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Soze connects with a solid leg kick.
Soze scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Soze looking to land some kicks to the body here.
The fighters circling - Soze throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Jones looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Jones throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Keyser Soze is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Jones tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Soze manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
And Soze counters with a quick kick to the body but Jones blocks it.

Soze on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Jones shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Soze but Soze pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Keyser Soze has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chester Jones.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Soze moves away from the strike by Jones.
Jones connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Jones tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Jones throws a looping overhand right but Soze ducks down to avoid it.

Soze avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Soze lands a hook that snaps the head of Jones backwards.
Soze gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Jones.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Keyser Soze will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Soze has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Jones is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jones might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Soze feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Joness jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Well Soze has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
