Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ralph McGucken (ranked 8260 p4p, 685 weight class) and Dennis Guetier (ranked 5725 p4p, 588 weight class). The key to victory for Ralph McGucken has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ralph McGucken!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dennis Guetier!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Bruno Hogan and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guetier avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Guetier moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.


It looks like Ralph McGucken has been cut.
Guetier fails with a takedown attempt.
McGucken is looking to clinch.

Guetier shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
McGucken trying to hold on to Guetier's head to control him but Guetier postures up.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McGucken is trying to maintain the position but Guetier is very close to passing his half guard.
Guetier seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McGucken does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
McGucken knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Guetier on the ground.

Guetier is looking for a kimura but McGucken is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Guetier to get the leverage.
Guetier is keen to just control but McGucken is a slippery customer.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Guetier lands a nice short elbow.
Guetier is trying to control the action in half guard but McGucken is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Guetier is looking to advance position but McGucken won't allow it.

McGucken has his hands on Guetier's head, controlling the position.
Guetier is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Guetier throws a series of punches but McGucken moves out of range.

Guetier shoots in but McGucken avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Guetier lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McGucken circles away quickly and effectively.
McGucken looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

McGucken fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Guetier, pushing him back against the cage.

McGucken lands with a short punch from the clinch.

McGucken has Guetier pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Guetier is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from McGucken - that's hurt Guetier badly! Oh, another knee lands and Guetier is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Guetier doesn't seem to be complaining.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Ralph McGucken!
Ralph McGucken really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Aspire Nutrition logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
