The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pereira darts in looking for a takedown but Osgoode gets double underhooks and turns Pereira into the cage.
Osgoode throws a big shot that misses.
Pereira wants to counter the offense by Osgoode and move into the clinch position.
Pereira looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Osgoode is fending him off so far but Pereira persists. Nope, Osgoode circles away and we're back to standing.

Pereira bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Pereira is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Osgoode to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Osgoode shrugs it off.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Osgoode regains half guard.
Osgoode knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pereira on the ground.

Osgoode holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Pereira prevents Osgoode from improving his position.
Osgoode scores with a few weak punches.
Osgoode is refusing to be controlled, as Pereira sits in half guard.

Osgoode has one foot on Pereira's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Osgoode throws a sloppy head kick and Pereira moves out of range easily.
Pereira is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Osgoode gets a double leg takedown into Pereira's guard.
Osgoode throws a strike but Pereira rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Osgoode is looking for a triangle but Pereira pushes his legs off easily.
Pereira wants to control from the top but Osgoode keeps moving.

Osgoode is working an open guard so Pereira takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Pereira tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Osgoode paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Osgoode attempts a counter takedown but Pereira avoids it well and moves away.

Osgoode scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pereira wants to control but Osgoode is keeping busy.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Pereira moves into full guard.
Osgoode is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Pereira wants to sweep but no luck.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Osgoode forces his way into half guard.
Osgoode seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Pereira gets back to full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Osgoode stands up from Pereira's guard - Osgoode perhaps looking for a knockout.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Osgoode's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Osgoode missing with a left hand there. Pereira was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
No luck for Pereira with that takedown attempt.
Pereira closes the distance and clinches up with Osgoode, looking for a takedown. Pereira pushes Osgoode against the cage but Osgoode circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Osgoode is defended easily by Pereira.

Osgoode goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Osgoode postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Pereira is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Osgoode, into his guard.

Pereira is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Osgoode has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Pereira is looking to defend but Osgoode has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Pereira! Osgoode pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Pereira taps out and this one is all over!
