Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chuck Penn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, David Ogden!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ogden is looking to clinch but Penn is avoiding it.
Penn takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Ogden wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Ogden misses with a two punch combination.
Penn slips a jab and a cross from Ogden.
Ogden cracks Penn with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Penn blocks a head kick by Ogden.
Ogden is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Ogden throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Penn takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Ogden scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Ogden trying to control the action but Penn is working from the bottom.

Ogden is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Ogden wants to pass to mount but Penn is defending the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Penn is staying active underneath Ogden, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ogden misses with a takedown attempt - Penn sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Penn throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Ogden's head.
Penn circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ogden looks to land a combination but Penn avoids it well.
Ogden throws a leg kick but Penn sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Ogden misses with a double jab.
Ogden throws a hook but Penn avoids it easily.
Penn chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Ogden can pounce on him.

Penn connects with a high kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Penn.
Ogden keeps the fight on the outside.
Ogden closes the distance looking to clinch
and Penn counters with a head kick. That will keep Ogden thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Ogden dips to his left and cracks Penn with an uppercut!

and Penn counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Penn stalling.
Penn is keen to just control but Ogden is a slippery customer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Ogden dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Ogden darts in trying to clinch

and Penn counters with a single leg into guard. Ogden didn't expect that.
Ogden is pulling down on Penn's head. It's preventing any offense from Penn, at least for the moment.

Ogden looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Ogden has Penn pulled in close to control his posture.

Ogden is looking for a triangle here but Penn uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Ogden is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Penn's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Ogden is not content to let Penn control the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Penn stalling.
Penn's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Ogden gets full guard.

Ogden trying to control the position here.
Penn trying to control but Ogden is working from the bottom.
Penn is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Penn won't allow Ogden to sweep him here.
Ogden can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Penn controls the pace.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Ogden might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Penn kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Chuck Penn dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Ogden throws a head kick that misses

and Penn counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Penn.
Ogden pulls Penn in close to prevent any damage.
Ogden looking to hit a scissor sweep but Penn is one step ahead there.

Penn slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Penn controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Ogden wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Ogden is looking to sweep but instead, Penn has passed into half guard.
Ogden keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

Ogden wants to control but Penn is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Despite being in the dominant position, David Ogden just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Penn counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Ogden!

Ogden is in all sorts of trouble here.

Ogden tries to improve his position but instead Penn has taken his back!
Ogden trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Penn is trying to stick to Ogden's back but Ogden is turning into Penn. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Penn's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Ogden.

Ogden trying to control the position from guard on top but Penn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Chuck Penn showed his dominance in that final round.
