The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Winston Alpacca and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bruschi.
Shroom appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Shroom looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bruschi is fending him off so far but Shroom persists. Nope, Bruschi circles away and we're back to standing.
Bruschi drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Shroom defends it well.
Bruschi's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Shroom connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Bruschi scrambles back to his feet.

Bruschi shoots in looking for a takedown but Shroom manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bruschi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Shroom seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bruschi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Shroom is nestled in close to Bruschi, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Shroom wants to control but Bruschi is keeping him busy.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Shroom wants to stand up but Bruschi is controlling him.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Shroom pushes Bruschi away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Bruschi gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shroom on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Shroom tries to get out of the position.

Bruschi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bruschi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
