PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sean Damon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Moore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Damon comes into the arena with Granite By Pendulum blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moore checks the leg kick.
Damon has a takedown stuffed.

Moore instigates a clinch.
Moore wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Damon prevents Moore from breaking the clinch.
Moore tries to break the clinch but Damon is controlling the position.
Moore wants to get back to striking at distance but Damon won't allow it.

Damon jumps into guard, dragging Moore to the mat.

Moore stands and steps away. Damon gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Moore goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Damon tries to clinch but Moore moves away

and Moore holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Damon tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Moore smiles and moves away.
Moore throws a wild body kick that Damon sees coming a mile off.
Damon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Moore counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Moore.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sean Damon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Moore can't break the clinch.
Moore wants to break free but Damon has control.
Moore blocks an uppercut.
Moore wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Damon has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Moore avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Damon is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Moore gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Damon is fighting off a takedown attempt but Moore is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Damon to the mat. Damon regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Moore decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Damon, up you get!
A decent looking body kick lands there for Moore.
Damon takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
No joy there for Moore, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Damon is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Moore.
Moore takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Moore decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Moore looks gassed!
Damon gets full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Moore trying to stand up but can't free himself from Damon's guard.

Damon controls Moore momentarily but Moore frees himself.
Moore really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Damon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Damon can't keep his opponent in guard - Moore advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Damon trying to control but Moore postures up.
Moore is pressing down on Damon's thigh, looking to free his foot. Damon is holding on for now.
Moore wants to stand up but Damon is controlling the position.
Moore not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Moore lands strikes from half guard.
Damon is pressing down on Moore's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Moore would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Damon shoots in but Moore avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Damon misses with a head kick.
Moore misses with a double jab.

Damon darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Damon moves nicely into side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Moore can do anything to dispel that myth.
Moore is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Moore is looking to reverse the position.

Damon decides to stand back up.
Moore misses with a double jab.
Moore closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Damon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Moore counters with a takedown into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Moore decides to stand back up.
No joy there for Moore, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Moore moves into the clinch.
Moore wants to get back to striking at distance but Damon won't allow it.

Damon jumps into guard, dragging Moore to the mat.
Moore has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Damon is proving hard to escape from.
Damon manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Damon won't let Moore get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Moore lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Damon backs up against the cage.
Damon with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Moore misses with a leg kick.
Sean Damon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A punch lands to the side of Damon 's head but he takes it in his stride.

and Moore counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Moore.

Damon looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Moore tries to stand but Damon is controlling from the bottom.
Damon controls Moore momentarily but Moore frees himself.
Moore trying to move into half guard but instead Damon has managed to sweep!
Damon forces his way into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Moore is trying to stand.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Moore makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Damon avoids a punch combination nicely.
Damon moves out of range as Moore throws a body kick.
Damon shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Damon throws a head kick that misses
and Damon takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

and Moore counters with a single leg into guard. Damon didn't expect that.

Damon pushes Moore off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Moore rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Damon moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Moore throws a front kick aimed at Damon's knee but Damon avoids it well.
Damon cracks the inside of Moore's front leg.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Damon gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Moore counters with a good low kick that Damon was not able to check.
Moore on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Damon. Damon obviously looking to wear him down.

Damon loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Moore has his feet on Damon's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Damon throws a leg kick which misses Moore's front leg but catches the back leg as Moore tries to avoid it.

Damon shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Damon was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Damon is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Moore has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Moore keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

and Moore counters with a lovely shot to the body.

and Moore counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Moore darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Damon is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Moore pulls his head out easily.

Damon is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Moore's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Moore's back!
