Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Billy Ashley (ranked 25386 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pierce Fu (ranked 24595 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ashley gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Ashley is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Ashley working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fu doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fu manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Fu decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Ashley is looking to get back to full guard here but Fu has managed to pass to side control instead.

The referee asks Fu politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Fu prefers to stall for the moment though.

Pierce Fu dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Fu tries to clinch but Ashley is having none of it.

Fu shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ashley is looking to control Fu's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ashley avoid being mounted?
Ashley could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Fu is trying to control. Ashley wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Fu's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Fu is looking for a kimura but Ashley is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Fu to get the leverage.

Let's hope that Fu has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Fu takes a little break here. Ashley wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Fu gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Fu fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ashley doesn't manage to clinch there - Fu circles away.

Fu drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Fu remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Ashley is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Fu's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Fu! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Ashley has tapped! This one is allllll over!
