Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hiroshimo Sakamoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 17 - 1, fighting out of New York, Gracie Allen!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Bruno Lombardi and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allen on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Good exchange - Sakamoto coming out on top.
Allen takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Sakamoto lands a jab to the head.
Allen stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Sakamoto.
Sakamoto throws a low kick, looking for Allen's leg but Allen calmly moves out of range.
Allen takes one on the button.
Sakamoto gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Allen holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Sakamoto wants to break free but Allen has control.
Allen just leaning against Sakamoto, taking a breather.
Sakamoto misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Sakamoto lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Allen backwards.

Sakamoto manages to pull guard.
Allen told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Allen wants to stand but Sakamoto has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Sakamoto escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Allen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Sakamoto controls Allen momentarily but Allen frees himself.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Allen wants to get up but he can't break Sakamoto's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Sakamoto had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Allen defends it easily.

Sakamoto has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Allen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Allen postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Sakamoto is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Allen, into his guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sakamoto is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Sakamoto is looking to pass into half guard but Allen pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Allen is in guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Sakamoto is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Allen defends well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Sakamoto lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Allen has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Allen and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Allen's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Sakamoto connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Allen scrambles back to his feet.
Sakamoto feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Allen's calf.
Gracie Allen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Allen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sakamoto.
A little jabbing left from Allen on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Sakamoto closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Allen to the mat! Allen manages to get full guard.

Hiroshimo Sakamoto is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Sakamoto is controlling the pace.
Allen won't allow Sakamoto to pass to mount.

And that's the end of the fight!
Hiroshimo Sakamoto showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Sakamoto has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
