PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Micky Dee (ranked 4057 p4p, 441 weight class) and Karl Hansen (ranked 3303 p4p, 383 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Micky Dee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Karl Hansen!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Santiago Holmes and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hansen throws a shot to the body.
Dee misses with a takedown attempt
and Hansen counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Hansen tests Dee's chin there with a solid looking shot.


It looks like Micky Dee has been cut.
Hansen looks to land a combination. Dee sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Nice sprawl there from Hansen as Dee shoots in.
Hansen appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Hansen lands a head shot.
Dee seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Hansen connects with a single shot there.
Hansen leaves Dee with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Micky Dee. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hansen looks to score with a jab to the body but Dee is just out of range.

Dee throws an overhand right that lands on Hansen's shoulder, as Hansen tries to avoid the shot.

Dee changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Hansen cracks Dee with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Hansen misses with a wild body shot.
Hansen scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Hansen connects with a crisp jab.
Hansen has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Hansen cracks the inside of Dee's front leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dee shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hansen but Hansen pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Hansen wants to counter the offense by Dee and move into the clinch position.
Hansen has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Karl Hansen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hansen lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Dee shoots for a double leg takedown but Hansen sprawls well. He's pushed Dee's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Dee on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hansen dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Hansen is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Dee had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Hansen misses with a body shot.
Hansen throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Dee stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Dee closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Dee drops an elbow to the side of Hansen's head.


It looks like Karl Hansen has been cut.
Dee thows a huge punch but Hansen dodges it nicely.

Hansen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hansen keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Hansen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dee. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dee looks to land a strike but Hansen avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Dee trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Hansen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dee is one step ahead there.

Dee with a flurry of punches that miss.
Hansen utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Dee throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hansen seems keen to control Dee's posture.
Dee throwing strikes but missing.

Dee is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dee stands up over Hansen, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Karl Hansen dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

so Dee counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.


That has opened up Karl Hansen's cut even more.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Dee's corner. There ya go! There ya go!


Karl Hansen's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Karl Hansen's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Micky Dee!
During a confident post fight interview, Micky Dee thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
