Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Maksimilian Lyagushov (ranked 2101 p4p, 213 weight class) and Egyptian Embalmer (ranked 1584 p4p, 169 weight class). Embalmer has chosen Katy Perry - Dark Horse ft. Juicy J as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Egyptian Embalmer is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Maksimilian Lyagushov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Egyptian Embalmer!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Embalmer avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Embalmer shoots in and drives through. Lyagushov sprawls well.
Lyagushov displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Embalmer.
Embalmer takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Egyptian Embalmer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lyagushov misses with an uppercut. Embalmer saw that one coming.
Embalmer shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lyagushov sprawls well. Lyagushov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Embalmer gets slowly back to his feet.
Maksimilian Lyagushov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Egyptian Embalmer.
Lyagushov lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Embalmer throws a body punch but Lyagushov moves out of range.
Embalmer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lyagushov's waist but Lyagushov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Embalmer off to one side.
Lyagushov throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lyagushov loads up on a big right hand but Embalmer slips the punch.

Embalmer shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Embalmer was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Embalmer swings around for an armbar but Lyagushov sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Embalmer's guard.

Embalmer looking for subs off his back but Lyagushov has passed one foot through into half guard.
Embalmer tries to get to full guard but Lyagushov has control of the leg.

Embalmer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Lyagushov perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Lyagushov seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Embalmer moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Lyagushov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Lyagushov trying to control the position from guard on top but Embalmer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Embalmer striking off his back but it's not causing Lyagushov any problems.

Embalmer is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Lyagushov content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Lyagushov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Embalmer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lyagushov has managed to get both his arms back between Embalmer's legs - danger averted.
Lyagushov is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Embalmer can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Lyagushov is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Embalmer has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Lyagushov is looking to defend but Embalmer has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Lyagushov! Embalmer pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Lyagushov taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Egyptian Embalmer!
During a confident post fight interview, Egyptian Embalmer thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
