The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Brown enables Kirkland to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Brown manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Kirkland closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Brown 's guard.

Kirkland gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Kirkland throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Kirkland fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Brown to the ground. Kirkland is now in Brown 's guard.

Kirkland stands up and waves to Brown to follow him.
Brown tries to close the distance and clinch but Kirkland swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Brown shoots in but no luck this time.
It looked like Kirkland was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
