Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Son Oneill (ranked 9719 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matias Alvaro (ranked 6160 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oneill defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Alvaro.
Oneill throwing a counter right hand but Alvaro manages to avoid it.
Alvaro shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Oneill counters with a one-two to the body.
Alvaro looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Alvaro throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
A low kick from Alvaro is predictable there
and Oneill counters with a stiff right hand.
Alvaro tries to clinch but Oneill moves away
and Oneill counters with a leg kick.
Alvaro looks to land a right hand but Oneill moved out of range.
Oneill really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Oneill closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Alvaro quickly recovers to half guard.

Alvaro is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Oneill's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Oneill's back!
Alvaro slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
You can see the frustration on Oneill's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Alvaro has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Oneill has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Oneill is trapped and Alvaro is scoring with shots to the head and body.
