These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edgar moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Edgar throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Edgar misses the shot to the body.
McKregor misses with a low kick.
Edgar unleashes a big counter combination but McKregor bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
McKregor walks into a stiff left hand from Edgar.

McKregor is rocked!
A big right from Edgar misses.
Oh McKregor is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Edgar cracks McKregor with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! McKregor falls to his knees and Edgar doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

A relieved looking Frankie Edgar thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
