Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mario Pereira (ranked 2170 p4p, 219 weight class) and Randy Rhodes (ranked 2458 p4p, 242 weight class). Pereira comes to the cage accompanied by Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight. Rhodes comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Imperial March (L.O.D. Rage Mix) kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pereira dives in and grabs Rhodes's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rhodes pushes down on Pereira's head and hops out.
A jab from Pereira misses.
Pereira shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pereira showed some decent athleticism there.
Rhodes wants to get back to full guard but Pereira has passed into side control.
Pereira thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Pereira wants to slow Rhodes down by chopping away at his legs.
Despite the aggression on Rhodes's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
A slapping leg kick lands for Rhodes.
Rhodes has managed to clinch.
Rhodes has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Pereira uses from the top position.
