Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Masaaki Hatsumi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Richard Tuffenufe!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Glass and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Tuffenufe clinches with his opponent.
Tuffenufe is working for takedown but Hatsumi is calmly controlling the position for now.

Hatsumi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Tuffenufe misses with an uppercut
letting Hatsumi counter with a right hand.

Tuffenufe has closed the distance and engaged Hatsumi in a clinch.
Hatsumi lands with a short shot to the head.

Tuffenufe fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
An attempted straight right counter from Hatsumi misses the target.

Tuffenufe moves in looking to clinch but Hatsumi pushes him off.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Tuffenufe closes the distance but Hatsumi moves to the side
and Hatsumi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Tuffenufe takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Tuffenufe throws a looping overhand right but Hatsumi ducks down to avoid it.
It looked like Hatsumi wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Tuffenufe wants to clinch up but Hatsumi keeps it at a distance.
Hatsumi is looking to counter punch.
Tuffenufe falls off balance throwing a combination
and Tuffenufe takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Tuffenufe shoots and misses
enabling Hatsumi to counter with a crisp jab.
Tuffenufe tries to clinch but Hatsumi moves out of range.
Tuffenufe tries to grapple but his opponent circles
letting Hatsumi counter with a right hand.

Hatsumi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hatsumi wants it to stay on the feet.
Hatsumi appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Tuffenufe tries for a takedown but Hatsumi circles away easily
enabling Hatsumi to counter with a crisp jab.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hatsumi moves out of range of the strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tuffenufe has taken the fight to the clinch.
Hatsumi lands a body shot.
A short right from Hatsumi on the inside.
Hatsumi blocks an elbow strike from Tuffenufe.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Hatsumi.
Hatsumi is trying to force a seperation but Tuffenufe has the dominant position.
Tuffenufe has Hatsumi pressed against the cage, preventing Hatsumi from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Hatsumi cracks Tuffenufe with a nice body shot.
Tuffenufe is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hatsumi gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Hatsumi lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Tuffenufe tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Hatsumi avoids it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tuffenufe closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hatsumi did well to prevent Tuffenufe getting side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hatsumi wants to control but Tuffenufe is keeping busy.

Tuffenufe is looking to advance position but Hatsumi won't allow it.

Hatsumi is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tuffenufe can do to turn this around?

Tuffenufe is looking for a kimura but Hatsumi is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Tuffenufe to get the leverage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Tuffenufe content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Tuffenufe tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hatsumi knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Tuffenufe not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Tuffenufe perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Tuffenufe prevents Hatsumi from improving his position.
Tuffenufe seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Tuffenufe tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hatsumi knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Tuffenufe wants to take a breather but Hatsumi is having none of it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Tuffenufe bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Tuffenufe is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Hatsumi's shoulder. That is not cool.
Hatsumi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tuffenufe on the ground.

Hatsumi is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Tuffenufe's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Tuffenufe! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Hatsumi has tapped! This one is allllll over!
