Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Don Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Loom Child!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Alyssa Summers and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Child scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


It looks like Don Carter has been cut.
Child shoots in and drives through. Carter sprawls well.
Child shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Carter but Carter pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Child fails with the takedown

and Carter counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Carter.

Child scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Don Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Loom Child.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Carter shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Child sprawls well. Child wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Carter gets slowly back to his feet.
Carter sets himself, and Child steps forward looking for the clinch! Carter avoids it this time.
Child shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

so Carter counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Child wants to get back to his feet but Carter passes into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Child is controlling Carter's trapped leg to prevent Carter from advancing to side control.
Child wants to control but Carter is keeping busy.
Carter blocks the strikes from Child.
Carter throwing shots but Child is blocking nicely.
Child has his hands clasped together around Carter's back. He's all about the action.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Carter passes into side control, despite Child's attempt to control the position.
Child sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Child is concentrating on defense, preventing Carter from advancing position.
Child wants to control but Carter is keeping busy.
Child really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Carter lands strikes from half guard.
Carter throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Carter maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Child could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Carter has cracked it and Child is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Carter!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Don Carter!
Loom Child spoke after the fight, saying 'One loss won't define me. You got lucky. I'll be back!'.
