The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lindsey sprawls well initially but Smith persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Lindsey has one foot on Smith's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Smith shoots in and gets a takedown into Lindsey's guard.

Lindsey has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Smith off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Smith tries to circle away but Lindsey has him pinned against the cage.
Lindsey keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Smith's efforts to push away.
Smith scores with a nice hook to the head.
Lindsey slowing the pace effectively.

Lindsey breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lindsey slips a jab and a cross from Smith.
Lindsey changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Smith pushes Lindsey up against the cage in a clinch.

Lindsey throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Smith blocks it with crossed arms.
Smith looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Lindsey breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Lindsey gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Smith to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Lindsey manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
A bit of stalling here from Lindsey.

Lindsey breaks the clinch.
Smith lands a nice hook to Lindsey's body. Lindsey takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Lindsey is breathing heavily.
Lindsey misses with a low kick.
Smith looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Lindsey walks straight into a right hand from Smith - that's dropped him! Smith jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Lindsey from any more punishment! Lindsey complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
